Lý thuyết về cấu trúc đảo ngữ

3 lỗi sai thường gặp khi làm bài tập về câu đảo ngữ
| 1, Quên mượn trợ động từ hoặc đảo trực tiếp động từ chính lên trước chủ ngữ |
Đây là lỗi sai phổ biến nhất ở những bạn mới làm quen với cấu trúc này. Khi đưa một trạng từ phủ định lên đầu câu (ví dụ như Never, Rarely, Seldom), nhiều người có xu hướng giữ nguyên trật tự của phần còn lại, hoặc đảo trực tiếp động từ thường lên trước chủ ngữ giống như động từ “to be” (ví dụ: thay vì Rarely does he go, lại viết thành Rarely goes he).
Nguyên nhân:
- Tư duy dịch trực tiếp
- Nhầm lẫn giữa động từ thường và trợ động từ: Chưa phân định rõ rạch ròi nhóm trợ động từ (am/is/are, have/has/had, can/will/must) với nhóm động từ thường (go, work, study).
Mẹo khắc phục:
- Ghi nhớ công thức chung của câu đảo ngữ: Phó từ + Trợ động từ + S + V
- Xác định thì của câu trước khi viết: Khi nhìn thấy một câu cần viết lại, bước 1 là nhìn động từ chính. Nếu là động từ thường ở thì Hiện tại/Quá khứ đơn, bắt buộc phải tự “mượn” do/does/did để đặt vào vị trí Trợ động từ.
| 2, Quên đưa động từ chính về dạng nguyên thể |
Ngoài việc nhớ phải mượn trợ động từ does hoặc did đặt trước chủ ngữ, nhiều bạn lại thường xuyên quên xóa bỏ đuôi “-s/es” hoặc “-ed” ở động từ chính phía sau. Lỗi sai này trong bài tập đảo ngữ trong tiếng anh thường tạo ra những câu như: Hardly did he finished… (thay vì finish) hoặc Little does she knows… (thay vì know).
Nguyên nhân:
- Quá tập trung vào cấu trúc của cả câu
- Do thói quen chia động từ: Khi thấy chủ ngữ là số ít (he/she/it) hoặc câu kể chuyện trong quá khứ, tay học sinh sẽ tự động thêm s/es/ed theo thói quen.
Mẹo khắc phục:
- Quy tắc Một lần chia: Hãy nhớ quy tắc của tiếng Anh là thì của câu và ngôi (số ít/số nhiều) chỉ được thể hiện ở một động từ duy nhất. Ví dụ Nếu did hoặc does đã gánh nhiệm vụ đó rồi, động từ chính phải quay về dạng nguyên thể (V inf).
- Kiểm tra lại câu sau khi viết: Ngay khi viết xong một câu đảo ngữ với do/does/did, hãy đưa mắt nhìn ngay vào động từ đứng sát sau chủ ngữ.
| 3, Đảo ngữ sai mệnh đề trong câu phức (Not until, Only after, Only when) |
Khác với Never hay Hardly, các bài tập về đảo ngữ với cấu trúc Not until, hay Only after, Only when đi kèm với một mệnh đề thời gian hoặc điều kiện. Sai lầm thường gặp ở đây là học sinh tiến hành đảo ngữ luôn ở mệnh đề thời gian đó, thay vì mệnh đề chính. Ví dụ, thay vì viết đúng là “Not until I got home did I realize…”, học sinh lại viết sai thành “Not until did I get home, I realized…”
Nguyên nhân:
- Áp dụng công thức máy móc
- Không phân biệt được Mệnh đề phụ (Dependent clause) và Mệnh đề chính (Main claus)
Cách khắc phục:
- Chia các cấu trúc đảo ngữ thành 2 nhóm rõ rệt trong đầu:
- Nhóm 1 (Đảo ngay lập tức): Never, Rarely, Seldom, Little, Hardly, No sooner.
- Nhóm 2 (Đảo ở mệnh đề thứ hai – Mệnh đề chính): Not until, Only after, Only when, Only if.
- Phân tích ngữ nghĩa trước khi viết: Hãy tự hỏi Hành động chính, kết quả chính của câu này là gì? Để phân biệt được chủ ngữ và vị ngữ trong câu. Ta chỉ thực hiện phép đảo ngữ (đảo trợ động từ) ở hành động/kết quả chính của câu mà thôi.
