Without a doubt, I’d say that Tet, also known as Lunar New Year, is my favorite holiday. I look forward to it every year. On Lunar New Year, we have big celebrations, long breaks from work or school and a lot of quality time to spend with our family. My grandparents also said to me that it had always been their favorite time of the year as they got to see all the members of our extended family.

As I said before, it is a big celebration so we have a lot of fun and meaningful activities. Our family will have gatherings, give other members gifts and visit each other’s houses. We also prepare a lot of traditional dishes like chung cake and enjoy them together.

I think that many popular traditions will continue in the future, like Tet Holiday or Mid-autumn festival . Some traditions might be forgotten if young people don’t pay attention to them. I also think new traditions will be born as society evolves and becomes more open-minded. My mother told me that growing up she had seen a lot of changes and she thought that I would see even more changes in my lifetime.

I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the most special occasion to Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 6-7 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar. It marks the start of a new beginning and it represents all the hopes and dreams people have for the new year.

There are some common things that people do during this festival. The new year festival is one of very few occasions where many families can get together, which makes it very special. Another thing is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making traditional foods like “chung” cake, and going to pagodas to pray for a happy and healthy new year.

The new year festival is so important to me. The reason is because we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming one.

Although some have argued about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this tradition will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
