Từ vựng gợi ý:

favourite pastimes: hoạt động giải trí yêu thích

an exhausting week: một tuần mệt mỏi

lie in bed: nằm trên giường

the latest drama: bộ phim truyền hình mới nhất

unwind (v): thư giãn

Without a doubt. Watching movies has always been one of my favourite pastimes. After an exhausting week, I often spend my Sundays lying in bed and watching the latest dramas to unwind a bit.

2. How often do you go to the cinema to watch movies?

Từ vựng gợi ý:

enjoy the latest blockbusters: thưởng thức những bộ phim bom tấn mới nhất

ticket (n):

expensive (adj): đắt

experience (n): trải nghiệm

worth the money: đáng tiền

movies with high resolution and quality: phim chất lượng và độ phân giải cao

Maybe once or twice a month. I usually go there with my friends to enjoy the latest blockbusters. Although tickets are pretty expensive, the experience is worth the money because we can watch movies with high resolution and quality on a large screen.

To be honest, becoming a famous film star used to be my childhood dream. However, as I grow older, I realize that I don’t have a flair for acting, and that I can’t cope with the pressure of being a celebrity, so I just give up on that dream.

II. Luyện nói Part 3

1. Is the cinema a popular form of entertainment in your country?

Từ vựng gợi ý:

entertain (v): giải trí

be favored by the majority: được ưa chuộng bởi số đông

low cost: chi phí thấp

ticket (n):

relatively affordable: giá cả khá phải chăng

be fed up with: chán

a different experience: một trải nghiệm khác

audience (n): khán giả

purchase (v): mua

Yes, without a doubt. Movie theaters can be seen in any city in Vietnam. Though there are several other ways to entertain, like going to amusement parks or playing video games, watching movies is still favored by the majority due to its low cost. A ticket can be purchased for less than 5 dollars, which is relatively affordable compared to the income of Vietnamese people nowadays. Besides, it’s hard to be fed up with movies because each one brings a different experience to the audience.

2. Do you think the Internet has already had a big impact on the entertainment industry?

Từ vựng gợi ý:

be greatly supported by: được hỗ trợ rất nhiều bởi

online products: sản phẩm trực tuyến

profit (n): lợi nhuận

entertainment companies: các công ty giải trí

physical products: sản phẩm vật lý

vinyl records: đĩa vinyl (đĩa than)

being poured from: được “rót” từ

users’ pockets: ví của người dùng

bank accounts: tài khoản ngân hàng

owner (n): người chủ

a good change: một sự thay đổi tốt

less material: ít vật liệu

less plastic and electronic waste: ít rác thải nhựa và điện tử

I do believe that this industry has been greatly supported by the Internet over the last two decades. I mean, now online products even bring more profit to entertainment companies than physical ones like CDs or vinyl records. You know every year, billions of dollars are being poured from Netflix’s or Spotify’s users’ pockets into the bank accounts of those companies’ owners. Personally, I think this is a good change because less material will be required to produce CDs or cassettes, which means less plastic and electronic waste being disposed of.
