- Có phải ta luôn thêm “most” vào trước tính từ để diễn tả “nhất” không?

- Nếu như “high” là cao thì “highest” có nghĩa là “cao nhất”. VD: “The most expensive area is a place called Pacific Heights, and it’s on the highest hill (đồi) in San Francisco and it overlooks (nhìn ra) the Bay (vịnh).”
- Không phải lúc nào ta cũng thêm “most” vào trước tính từ để diễn tả “nhất”.
- Với những tính từ ngắn (như old/cheap/nice etc.), ta thêm đuôi “-est” vào cuối -> (oldest/cheapest/nicest etc.). Lưu ý: Có một số ngoại lệ như ‘good/bad’ -> ‘best/worst’
- Với những tính từ kết thúc bằng đuôi “-y” như ‘easy/heavy’, ta chuyển “-y” thành “-i” rồi mới thêm đuôi “-est” -> ‘easiest/heaviest’.
- Với những tính từ dài (như careful/expensive/interesting etc.), ta mới thêm “most” vào trước tính từ.
- Từ còn thiếu trong câu “What is most expensive area in San Francisco?” là “the”. Câu đúng phải là “What is the most expensive area in San Francisco?”. Lưu ý: Trước các tính từ so sánh hơn nhất luôn phải có “the”. Ví dụ: ‘the oldest/ the cheapest/ the heaviest/ the most expensive/ etc.’
